Indian skipper Virat Kohli came down heavily on umpire S Ravi during the RCB vs MI 2019 match. The umpire had committed a major blunder during the final ball. It was known only after the end of the match, where replays clearly showed that Lasith Malinga had overstepped a huge margin but still the umpire Ravi did not object. But the moment Virat saw this on big screen during replay, his face had turned red in anger.
During the presentation ceremony, Virat lashed out and said, “We are playing at the IPL level. We are not playing club cricket. That is just a ridiculous call — last ball. The umpires should have their eyes open. It was a no-ball by an inch. It’s completely different game altogether. If it is a game of margins, I don’t know what is happening. They should have been more sharp and careful out there.”
That’s not all even Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indian’s captian slammed the umpire for the same. He said, “Honestly, I just got to know after crossing the rope that it was a no-ball. These kind of mistakes aren’t good for the game. The over before that Bumrah bowled, a ball which wasn’t a wide but it was called.”
