JALANDHAR: A 15 year old Jalandhar boy has stolen Rs 50,000 from his father’s account to buy PUBG skins and gaming accessories. The boy wanted to buy gaming pads and PUBG mobile skins.

The father, a bike mechanic found that Rs 50,000 was debited from his account. He notified the theft to police. The father became suspicious since he did not receive any OTP or
transaction messages. The matter came to light when the cyber cell wing took up the case.
They found that the amount was transferred to Paytm account and was later used to buy PUBG items.

We found that money from the complainant’s account had been transferred to a Paytm account and used to purchase PUBG items through various transactions,” cyber cell in-charge Monica Arora said. They further found that the boy was the real culprit.
He transferred the money during the night and even deleted the OTP. The boy is a class 10 student and his father dropped charges against him.
