The umbrella body of Jet Airways pilot association threatened to halt services by organizing a strike if the salary dues are not paid by April 1. The association declared, "If there is no proper clarity on the resolution process and salary payments, by March 31, we will stop flying from April 1”.
The decision came after a 90 minute annual meeting of Jet Airways domestic pilots body National Aviators Guild. The guild has been from operation since a decade and composes of 1,000 domestic pilots at the airline. After not getting any reassurances from the management, the guild had pleaded to Union labor minister Santosh Gangwar, for intervention.
“We have decided that either the management lets us know about the progress of the resolution plan and the future of the company by March 31 or we will refrain from flying duties,” said NAG (National Aviators Guild) Vice President, Captain Asim Valiani
